Sunday morning and early start, off to the lakes today. A quick bacon sarnie and chuck a few things in a bag and off we go. First stop the garage and a tank of v power at eight pence a litre more than normal, is this an omen for the week. Little traffic on the roads so we were soon arriving at the Patterdale, our home for the next five days. We checked in but could not have the room until two so we got ready and wandered off down the road to Glenridding, a visit to the 'Inn on the Lake' and some photographs from their pier, then on to the tourist information to use the wifi, a quick look round and the purchase of some cards and we were done. Back to the hotel for four and a quick beer before dinner.
As usual the food was on fine form and Sue had a nice bottle of Rose, myself sticking to the Cumbrian Bitter. No wifi at the hotel so after dinner a quick visit to the White Lion for some more bitter and a go on their wifi.
