Tuesday Patterdale to Howtown and return by Steamer

Another hearty breakfast and today Sue wanted to do the Steamer walk, Last time with Liz and Pete we took the steamer to Howtown and walked back, this time we are walking to Howton and then getting the boat back. We set off from the hotel soon turning right by the school and crossing the  beck which feeds Ullswater and soon turn left along our path which we follow all the way to Howtown. It is a path which varies from good to awful and climbs up and down many times. There are viewpoints along the way and red squirrels if you are lucky enough to see them, we didn't but people we spoke to had. It rained on and off but it was bearable and we arrived at Howtown with forty five minutes to spare. The time soon passed talking to other walkers and before we new it we were on the boat and after a twenty minute sail we arrived back at the dock and another mile and we were home. The bar called but we had a little sleep first.
